BILLY BONES

Everyone and everything has a skeleton (pronounced ske-lee-tun). A house's skeleton is its bricks, whereas yours is made up of me, Billy Bones!  I give you support, protection and most importantly movement for dancers. Here is my fact file:

  • There are 206 bones in your body
  • Bones grow, which is why we get taller, but they stop growing at about the age of 22 years for girls and 25 years for boys.
  • Bones get harder as we get older
  • Bones can break!
  • The place where joints meet is called a joint.
  • Joints have muscles attached to them, which allow us to move in all directions.

So you can see that without bones, you simply couldn't do anything!
See you around soon, when I'll be back with more great facts about me.

In the meantime, why not visit my friends...
