When I did my grade three exam I forgot my introductions to the first exercise as I had not really practiced with a piano only a tape recorder in class and the music sounded different.

Hey, it was my birthday on the 25th May and I turned 15 and on the same day I had an exam. I was so nervous but excited at the same time because it was my birthday. I just couldn't stop fidgeting! I had Advanced Ballet in the morning and Elementary Acrobatics in the afternoon so I was soooo nervous! I got my results last week at dancing, and I got distinction in both! Woooh... I was so proud of my self!

I just sat my Intermediate exam a few weeks ago and I haven’t got my results yet. It went really well, I think. The examiner was really, really nice and the cool thing was that I was put in the room with 3 other girls from my school!!! Unfortunately my number came off, and I was fumbling with the pin, trying so hard to put it back on before the next exercise. I also did a really bad pose pirouettes on the left side. But, overall, it was cool.

Just before you go into an exam it is so nerve-raking but when you get in there it turns out to be really fun! The examiner is always very friendly which helps you relax. You then go home and a couple of weeks later you get your result! Getting your result is one of the best parts! I love doing exams and would recommend it to anyone. I did three this year and I still want to do another one!

I did my inter-foundation exam in April 2005. I went in after I had warmed up, I had a good time in there and the examiner was so nice. I came out and cried because I messed up on a few exercises, as I am a bit of a perfectionist. I then got to go out for lunch with my friend Katy and my dance teacher.

I took my Grade 3 exam 3 weeks ago and am waiting for my results! So far, I have got distinctions, so I hope I do well. I love my ballet lessons, and now I help my teacher with the younger classes as a "Big Girl".

I did my first vocational exam last year. It was very nerve racking but I knew I had to do it if I wanted to excel in dance. I really enjoyed it in the end and I received a distinction.

Hi! I’m Anna. I am in grade 8 this year and going to an exam on 7th of April. I hope I can get a distinction on that day. I hope I will dance as well as I can.

I tried very hard in my Primary Ballet Exam. I got tired but did my best. I love my Ballet and can't wait to start my Grade 1.

I was a little upset with my results for the G1 Exam, because I did not get Distinction, my Mam did not sent me to Ballet School for Practice a day before Exam, my Mam also feel sorry. I hope I will get Distinction on my G2 Exam next March, I like Ballet very much. I am an Elementary Grade 2 Student and I train for Ballet 3 days a week. I hope I can become a ballet teacher when I grow-up, so Exam day is very an important and exiting day for me. I have to ask for early release from school.

I love doing my exams, I did one on 25\8\04. Our teacher says we have to be in line with a crack in the wall! When we do our dance we have to use our smile, eyes, feet, arms & fingers – everything!

I did my Grade 6 exam last year with some good friends of mine and some of the funniest things happened. The barre work all went smoothly then we went into the centre and did the port de bras and we noticed that one of our friends had her skirt tucked up at the back. We tried to tell her but she wouldn't pay attention then the examiner had to tell her. She was soooo embarrassed.

Hi, I'm Jenny. I'm 15 years old. Last Sunday, I took my biggest dance exam yet! Now, I've done loads of exams and I don't usually get nervous before the exam, but this time, my stomach was in KNOTS while I was warming up, and the wait before being called was TORTURE - kept fidgeting!! But once I was in, I enjoyed myself THOROUGHLY, and did very well!! My dance mistress was really proud, as were my parents! All that’s left now is the nerve-racking wait (about a month!) for the results!

Hi, I'm Joanne. I'm 13, and I live in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Last Saturday, I sat my RAD stage 3. I had been looking forward to it for MONTHS, and felt well enough prepared, so that when the day arrived, I wasn't too nervous! Actually, the worst part was before going in to dance, sitting waiting! I got quite anxious and nervous, but when they called my name, I said to myself "Come on, Jo-Jo! You're just here to enjoy this!" And I LOVED every minute of it! I felt SO PROUD of myself afterwards! Ballet exams are really good fun!

I have had mostly good experiences and one half-laughable half-embarrassing one. My teacher always prepares me extremely well and we have a "pretend" exam before the day. My half-half experience was when it was the first year of wearing ribbons and despite having practised to get them undone quickly all year I couldn't get one of them undone! And we didn't have scissors! The examiner saw my troubles though and helped me out!

Hello. I was really nervous about my first exam. I went in with three other girls that I didn't know so I didn't feel comfortable working around them but it worked out fine. Then we had our results and I got distinction!!!
