I was doing my grade 2 exam and at the end of one of the character steps my character
skirt fell right to my ankles. It was pretty funny, even the examiner laughed!

My
ballet exam happened exactly as described on the
website. I was very excited and I really liked dancing
in front of the examiner.

I
like your web site because I'm a dancer at Dynamic
Dance, and my mom teaches there. I also do exams
for ballet and this year I'm in Grade 3, and 10 years
old. Last year I did my Grade 2 exam and I got a
distintion! The examiner was really nice, she kept
smiling at me and she made me feel comfortable. I
also like your web site because it has info about
stuff. P.S. My examiner's name was Miss Fisher.

Hi,
my name is Sam and I am a very keen dancer. I have
done quite a few exams in ballet, jazz and tap dancing.
I started dancing when I was two and I'm 10 now!
At first the exams were quite easy but now they are
getting harder. I love dancing and I have been bullied
at school in the past because of dancing but I have
never even thought about giving up.

When
I was doing my Intermediate Foundation exam this
year we had to travel four hours to get there, and
two of my friends (one which I was staying with)
both had their exams together but mine was later,
I didnt know who I was doing my exam with, when I
got there I knew one of the girls from a school I
did for the exam....but this other girl came in called
Alana, I had never seen her before but she was as
nervous as me, she had never even done a graded exam
before! Well, we were both heaps hiped up because
we were nervous and we just kept laughing and stuff....we
were so loud and the studio was next door....the
lady at the desk had to come in to tell us to be
quiet!

This
is what really happens on an exam day as I have done
a few, now I am in Grade 3 and I am 10 years old.
My grandmother is an examiner called Elaine Howells.
When I do exams it is very frightning and I get nervous
just incase I do a mistake. Ballet and performing
are the best things in the world. In an exam I tripped
on my character skirt. The last exam I did was on
December 5th.

In
my class, we start preparing for the exam about three
months ahead.
This means practicing moving your head, body and/or arms at the same time,
adding the final touches to exercises, pretending to be called in at the beginning
of our class, and memorising things for the exams. Sometimes it gets a little
scary right before the examiner rings the bell, but it won't be when you're
inside.

Don't
worry about your exam it only makes you dance worse,
(I should know I've done it!) Just go with the flow.

My
exam/assessment was really good. At first it was
sort of scary but it was ok after all. My ballet
teacher is called Miss Niki and is really nice! Oh
well, better go! BYE

I
am about to sit my first ballet exam (grade 1). Since
I looked at your website I am not so nervous. The
name of my examiner is Miss Flower. The ballet school
I go to is Dance for All at the Theatre School in
Edinburgh. Tracy has been training me up. I want
to say thank you to Tracy. Is there anything I should
know about my exam (I've only been dancing since
May this year!)? Thank you
Love Corin
