The Snowman - Synopsis

This is a tale of a young boy called James who wakes up one winter’s morning to find everything covered in snow. So excited by this James jumps out of bed, gets ready for the day and rushes downstairs into the garden where he spends the day building a magnificent snowman. It is Christmas Eve and after a long day outside James goes to bed but in anticipation of the next day, sleeps badly.

Late into the evening James gets out of bed to check on his snowman. Following his footsteps of that morning, James walks downstairs and opens the back door but to his amazement he stands face to face with his friendly looking snowman who is now alive! The two set off for a night-time journey full of exciting adventures where they meet all kinds of interesting characters before returning home for Christmas morning.

Based on Raymond Briggs' enchanting children’s classic "The Snowman" will be returning to London’s Peacock Theatre, Wednesday 8 December 2004 – 9 January 2005.
