Christopher Nourse was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire and educated at
Hurstpierpoint College, Edinburgh University (graduating with an LL.B
in law, politics and philosophy) and the Middle Temple.
worked for many years at the Royal Opera House, latterly as assistant
to the general director and then as administrative director
of the Royal Opera House Trust, and has also been administrative
of Birmingham Royal Ballet (formerly Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet),
executive director of Rambert Dance Company and, most recently,
managing director of English National Ballet. He is now a freelance
writer and speaker specialising in the lyric arts.
Christopher is a trustee of Youth Dance England/National Youth Dance
Trust, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an associate of the
Theatrical Management Association.
