Jan Younghusband

Jan Younghusband trained in opera production at Glyndebourne and from there went on to a career in the theatre working in regional repertory as a production manager, and then the National Theatre were she was assistant to Peter Hall and later incharge of scheduling for the National Theatre.  After a brief time in the West End with the Peter Hall Company and the Really Useful Company, Jan moved to television developing new classical music television formats.  Credits as producer include:  Orchestra!, Concerto! several docs and music performance films for BBC Music and Arts, and as writer she created the animation series Oscar's Orchestra to introduce young children to classical music, and also collaborated on the biography Jackie: a Genius in the Family and assocaietd film and documentary.  In 1999 she was apointed commissioning editor for classical music at Channel Four.  Credits during this time include:  Howard Goodall series; Operatunity, Musicality, The Death of Klinghoffer, 4Dance, Rough Guide to Choreography.  IN 2004 she also took on the visual arts role at Channel Four and is currently responsible for 80 hours of television a year across all areas of arts, music and performance.
