Next Steps

YDE is pleased to announce that we have been successful in receiving an award to support a first national development programme for youth dance.

The award of £635,000 is the largest award from Arts Council England National Activities awards and has been allocated over two years to support Next Steps a programme designed to increase the amount of dance participation available to young people through investing in networks, training and events.

The programme will bring together nine dance organisations (see list of organisations on next page) based in each region of England to work with YDE to improve the opportunities for young people across the country.

This is the start of a new era for young people’s involvement in dance. We look forward to working with the nine dance organisations to make a real difference to the amount and quality of dance experience available to young people across the country.
